Many of our members will be unaware of the amount of work which is done behind the scenes by our archivists and research team of Maurice Cass and Andrew Polkey. Clearly since the passing of Barrie our lead archivist, their work has increased and somehow seems more poignant.

After an extremely useful meeting where we discussed the way forward with the society research team, we have decided to single out their work on a special page on this site. We have struggled for a definitive name for the page, but for now have called it Fact Finding, and you can find the link in the main menu. If you can offer a better name please drop us a line with your thoughts.

The team hope to bring you interesting and factual articles that they have already researched or will be doing so in the future and we all hope that you will find their work enjoyable.

Are you on our mailing list? We send out a regular newsletter via email to our members on the members database. Sadly, we know that not all members have an email address, but we do not send out paper newsletters any longer because of increased costs to the society.

This being the 25th Anniversary year for Derby Grammar School, they are holding a summer ball at the school in celebration. The date has been fixed for Saturday 27th June 2020 and all are invited to attend.

Tickets will be on sale shortly and we will keep you updated. However, if any ODs wish to book tickets or indeed a table at the event, please let our webmaster know who will be collating numbers.
